Stunt Bike Show in Bordeaux, France
The eighth annual French Stunt Bike Show took place in Bordeaux this year in October after it was pushed back from an initially planned September date. With approximately 7,000 people in the stands the amateur stunt contest was broken into three categories: Scooter, 50cc, Sportbike. The results were as follows:
Sportbike
- Jimmy "BigJim" Quetel
- Mathieu Bousquet
- William "Whill" Aury
50cc
- Thibaut "Tobi" Nogues
- Steven "Sirius" Lavocat
- Samuel "Sam'Supermot" Gibella
Scooter
- Bagoros Rok (Slovenia)
- Hakim Doomy
Each category awarded a 1st-5th place, decided by a panel of judges. In addition to the amateur contest professional riders Zolton, Duke and Stunter13 pleased the crowds with their exciting runs. The show initially had booked Chris Pfeiffer to ride as well, but after suffering a injury last weekend he was unable to attend.
Mathieu Bousquet, who placed second in the sportbike category commented, "I found this SBS very friendly between amateur riders and pro-riders!" He also said the stoppie contest really brought in an exciting crowd aspect, as fans held their breath during the dangerous competition. An on-going challenge to stunt riding is bringing the crowds closer and allowing them to understand what we do. Events like stoppie contests undoubtedly off-set the sometimes repetitious individual freestyle and really show what our sport is about: going big, or going home!
