Any stunter who has run full fairing without a stay probably can tell you the same sad story: “I was doing a wheelie, came down hard and CRACK my headlights and upper just got annihilated.”

 It’s sad, because it’s preventable.

You have like $500 worth of plastics, headlights and brackets attached to the front of your motorcycle, why not protect them? I feel a Stealth Stay is 100% necessary for any full fairing lot or street stuntbike, even if you’re just casually doing street wheelies, this stay will keep your front end tight and in one piece. Even through violent pancakes (when the bike falls from 12-o’clock directly on its side) and not-so graceful wheelie landings, my front end stays tight, keeping my plastics and headlights protected.

Another major benefit of this stay in particular, is you are able to run your clipons completely turned out (which gives you good leverage for stunting). I run 7-degree Vortex clipons completely turned out and I have full turning radius without my clipons hitting my upper.

For the 636 the stay comes in two pieces, the first which mounts to your frame and the “windscreen” part which then attaches to the top of the stay. The mounting process is super easy and with a little trimming of your upper fairing you will be ready to roll before you can say “headlight insurance.” One thing to note is you will be removing the mounting location for your rearview mirrors so if you plan on running mirrors you will need to buy some mirrors that clamp onto your clip-ons.

I also have to say Sean, the owner of Stealth Stay, is a stellar businessman and great with communication and shipping his products in a timely fashion. Check out the products at: http://stealthstay.com/ the stays are $220 and you can pay via paypal.
