Denting Yo Tank Part II With J&P
In todays installment we've decided to do a slightly more detail video of the denting of a tank. Anthony covered it really well in the first "Denting yo tank" video so this blog is going to concentrate on the adjustments we've made to our technique to futher improve the tank dents.
We started with a haggard tank and with a few hours of work we ended up with a really nice dent for Jesus. The main focus of the video is addressing the crease issues. As stressed in the clip it's very important to flatten them out as soon as possible. That way they won't be unsightly and even worse crack and potentially ruining your gas tank.
When it comes to specialized tools we suggest using a small weight for the round disk, and a dumbell as the striking force since it allows you to be very precise with the strikes. Jesus and I feel that if you watch the original Stuntbums video and this one you'll be crushing tank dents too! So get in the garage bring with you a new found sense of confidence, a few special tools and start denting your own tanks too.
i got a small dent on the left side of the tank, will that small dent affect the process?
Tom, it really depends. If it's not in the way of where you'll be denting, don't worry about it. If you'll be denting the tank where it is, you should be cautious.
If it's a small, round dent I'm less worried about it interfering, but if it's a sharper dent where I'm worried it may cause a bad crease, I typically flip the tank upside down and try to tap it out, or at least mellow it out, with a wooden rod and hammer.
ok thats sounds good bro. thanks alot.
