Cheap hack handbrake

Yo - this might be a stupid idea, but it makes complete sense to me to try it out. I'm setting up an F3 and don't really need a handbrake setup, but I found a AN650 rear master cylinder and lever at work and my boss only wants a little cash for it. Has anyone run maxi scooter master cylinders, good idea or bad idea?
