i have a 08 ninja 250 that i would like to stunt. is it possible and if so is there anything extra i need to get to make it stunt ready?

I would try to find a cage for it! Maybe turn your clipons out to give you better leverage. How much you mod your bike is really personal preference and if you're going to keep riding on the streets or not. But regardless there are lots of things you can learn on a stock bike - that's how I learned

For dirtbars, some people just drill into the upper triple and mount it there.
